My story?
It’s rough out there. I know, because I’ve been there. Multiple times.
When I was in college, I came in with a plan to become a neurosurgeon. Life happened and I had to pivot. But I didn’t know what was out there. So, I had to figure it out for myself.
My one goal: I didn’t want to wake up one day when I was 45 and hate my life. And think it was too late to change my career or be stuck in a job I hated.
What was I good at? Where would I be happy? Where would I be able to learn, grow, and contribute? Where would I be challenged? And so on.
So took a massive risk moved to SF, a city I’d never visited, where I didn’t know a single soul. And figured it out. Built a career in tech, business, and entrepreneurship.
I’ve gotten fired (if we’re being professional, “laid off”) before, been through reorgs, interviewing internally, switched functions, even industries. Followed a very non-traditional path.
